The café is located within the foyer of Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre and can be accessed from within the Aquatic Centre, from the foyer (without having to pay to enter the Centre) and from outside via a take-away window.

The Café is expected to become a favourite place for people winding down after a fitness session, parent groups enjoying time in the complex with children, nearby residents, visitors to the Roxborough Park Rose Garden and people using the adjacent sports fields – as well as a destination for people who simply enjoy good coffee.

Meet the new Waves café operators

Philip and Robert Falato will be operating the new café at Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre. The brothers also manage the cafés at Ashfield Aquatic Centre, Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre, Blu Aqua Kiosk, and Kellerman’s Café at Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre in Enmore.

Do you have any ideas for the name of the café?

We’re still working on it.

What kind of coffee will you serve?

Toby’s Estate Wooloomooloo blend (Philip’s favourite coffee is a long black or a skim flat white, and Robert’s is a flat white.)

What kind of food will be served?

Customers can expect a good selection of food, all made in house and to order. Full breakfast, lunch and take away home meals will be on offer.

Will you do catering?

100 per cent – we will be catering not only for the party room next door, but for all kinds of parties and functions.

What do you like about the new Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre?

It’s a great location and an exciting new complex. There’s a lot of buzz in the community about it. It’s different for us, we’re excited to be bringing the coffee culture of the Inner West to The Hills.

What kind of areas do you have in the café?

We will have both outdoor and indoor seating areas, as well as a coffee window. It will be a great place to have a coffee and a chat after aqua or fitness classes, a snack with the kids, as well as handy for grab-and-go food. Indoors, it will be a beautiful light filled space for a catch up.

Anything else you’d like to tell us?

Quality and freshness is very important to us. These days, cafes in aquatic centres exceed people’s expectations. Gone are the days of meat pies and ice blocks, now if we sell meat pies they will be gourmet. We’re looking forward to opening!
